Falling in Love with Fall

Hey guys! Thought I'd do a quick post today all about Fall. Since we are now officially in the Fall season I want to share some of my favourite fall trends/things I love about Fall.

To start out, the weather we have had where I live this past weekend has been absolutely gorgeous! I wanted to spend as much time as I could outside enjoying the beautiful weather, so my boyfriend and I decided to go on a nature walk to enjoy some fall sight-seeing.

I absolutely love when the leaves begin to change their colours, and when they begin to fall off the trees. It's such a beautiful sight walking down a pathway and the leaves are falling above your head. I love how the air is just a little bit chilly, but still warm enough to be outside in a sweater. I'm a big fan of bundling up in big, thick, warm sweaters and taking a coffee to go and sit somewhere and just enjoy the view that we are so privileged to have.

Fall has to be one of my favourite seasons because it's the end of summer; which is sometimes too hot, and the in-between before winter; which is always too cold. It's just perfect.

I also really love wearing darker/vampy lips in the fall time; I just feel that this colder weather is the perfect excuse to wear them. I'm planning on doing a post of my favourite fall lipsticks soon, which will be posted on my Beauty page - so stay posted!

I also really love doing my nails (any time of year) but wearing darker colours in the fall. I'm definitely not a professional at doing nails, and have super shakey hands which makes it very difficult for me; but none the less I still love doing them.

As I said this is a very quick post, my next post will most likely be on my Beauty page. Leave a comment below telling me your favourite things about fall, and like/share this post if you liked it!

Organizational Tips! ✔✏

Hey guys! This post is going to be dedicated to my personal organizational tips for school. With the new school year upon us it is easy to get overwhelmed with assignments, homework and tests. What's even more overwhelming is not knowing when your papers due, what homework you had to do last night... and what was that test on again...?

This leads me to my first tip; and that is, getting into the habit of using an agenda and writing important dates down! I recommend getting one where you can see the entire month, then the individual days/week. This way, you can use the monthly planner to write down your future important dates/goals (i.e; due dates for tests and assignments) and you can judge how much time you have to plan, prepare/study, sit down to write your paper or to study for your test before the due date. This is an easy fix to help you manage your time. Then, on the individual days per week you can write down your homework for each class and check it off as you complete it ✔. This way you can judge your productivity and adjust yourself accordingly.

Another tip is to colour coordinate your notes. What I like to do in my binder is highlight the class course code (i.e; BIO 3021) in the same colour throughout my notes and in my agenda. So Biology may be blue, Chemistry red, English green, ect... This helps to organize your notes per class and when you look in your agenda you can tell what homework you have due for each class. This will minimize forgetting to do your homework, or doing the wrong homework for the wrong class.

My next tip is to keep a clean binder. I recommend even if you decide to type your notes for your classes; as I do most of the time - to print them out and put them into a binder. This way, in the case that something should happen to your computer, you have all of your notes in a binder to study from (although you should always back up all of your notes onto a USB as well). When you have a clean binder you will be less stressed to study, which means you will be more productive and have a better chance to get that A!

Another tip is to use some sort of a filing system to organize all of your important personal documents. I'm in my second year of university and let me tell you - this is a life saver when it comes to being organized! Upon entering a new year of school there are always a lot of personal documentation that needs to be completed, and handed in order to enter the next year. This may not apply to all programs. What I like to do is write the headers on the top of each section of my filing dividers - this makes it easy for me to see where everything is when it comes to handing things in at the end of the year; and prevents a lot of stress and anxiety of losing documents!

My next tip is to de-clutter your working space. I have a very basic desk and I only like to keep the bare minimum on it. When there is too much piled up on your desk it can get overwhelming. If you have this problem I would suggest finding a home for those unnecessary items that seem to stick around and take up space. Generally I only have my computer, writing utensils, my agenda, some spare note taking paper and sticky notes. This way everything looks neat and organized and only the important things that I need on a daily basis are available.

These are just a few personal tips that help me stay organized during school and can hopefully help anyone who is in school/going to be starting school soon. I wish you success in your schooling and if you have any tips for me, or any you would like to share feel free to write them in the comments! Good luck guys!

Little Miss Dior

Recently I was on a hunt to find a new perfume as I was running out of my previous one. I am usually drawn to the Vera Wang perfumes like Lovestruck, or Princess but I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and get something new, something a little bit different from what I normally wear. I was out and about at the mall this past week and found myself in Shoppers (as I usually do...) and decided to give some perfumes a sniff. I have always loved the packaging of the Marc Jacobs perfumes but was never fond of the smell of them... just not my thing. However, I decided to give the Daisy Eau So Fresh another sniff. Tempted by the bottle and the fresh, florally smell; I contemplated purchasing it but took a few days to think about it. Then on another trip to Shoppers a few days later, I decided to get my boyfriend to smell the Daisy perfume. We both agreed that we weren't too fond of the scent for me. I decided to smell another perfume and fell completely in love. It was definitely love at first sight (or sniff). The perfume that I soon became addicted to is the Miss Dior Eau De Toilette.

This perfume is so classy, elegant and mature, and the scent is so fresh, light and not over powering. It's a perfect daytime or night time appropriate scent, and perfect for any season. It is very distinct and lingers beautifully throughout the day. The packaging is so classy, girly and sleek. I love everything about this perfume and would highly recommend it to anyone. I feel like this perfume would be school/work appropriate as well, considering the scent is not too strong and because it is an ''eau de toilette'' it is a bit lighter than regular perfumes. This is what the notes and style of the perfume are said to be on Sephora's website:

The notes in this perfume are:
Blood Orange Essence, Neroli Essence, Rose Essence, Indonesian Amber Patchouli Essence.

The style of this perfume is:
Elegant. Exuberant. Romantic.

I paid a little over $100 for this perfume and believe it was worth every penny. I usually pay roughly the same price for the Vera Wang perfumes and they last about a year for me before I have to repurchase.

If you are in the market for a new perfume I highly suggest giving this one a sniff, or if you have it already leave your thoughts in the comments!

Drugstore Gems ♣

In this post I thought I would share some of my favourite makeup products from the drugstore. The drugstore does have some hits and misses, but the products I’m going to share are staples of mine that I always repurchase.  The products are listed in no particular order.

1.        The first product I’d like to share is the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows. These eyeshadows feel so high quality and are
comparable to the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill eyeshadows, but are only a fraction of the cost. The shadows range from $6.00-$12.00 depending on where you purchase them, and sometimes they’re on sale for half off. You really can’t go wrong with these shadows. I would honestly pay a high end price for them because they’re worth every penny. The texture of the eyeshadows is a pressed pigment, and I like to apply them with my finger as I get more colour payoff. The colours in the line range from neutral to bright, shimmery to matte. I also like to pair these shadows with another product I’m going to discuss in this post. If you’re someone on a budget or just looking for some good quality eyeshadows I would highly recommend giving these a try.

2.        The second product I absolutely love are the Maybelline Color Tattoos. These are a cream eyeshadow that you can wear alone or under a powder eyeshadow as a base to make the colour more intense. I personally like to wear them under powder eyeshadows especially the L’Oreal Infallible ones. These cream eyeshadows also range from neutral to bright colours and shimmery to matte. The price of these are around $8.00. They’re super longwearing, pigmented, and do not crease. These are another product I highly recommend to anyone, especially if you have a problem with your eyeshadows creasing or not showing up on your eyelids.

3.        The next product has been my all-time favourite mascara for years now. What I love about this mascara is that it separates your eyelashes perfectly and
doesn’t clump. I already have fairly long eyelashes and what I look for most in mascaras is the separation not so much the volume. I love spidery looking eyelashes and this mascara does it for me. I sometimes pair it with the L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara if I want the look of fake eyelashes. But as a stand-alone mascara this gets it done. The brush is rubber and very small which is why I love it, as it coats every lash including the lower lashes. If you’re not into spidery lashes you may not like this mascara.

4.        The next product is one of my favourite setting powders. I usually order
mine online off the eyeslipsface website when they have a deal for 50% off and free shipping. This powder is originally $6.00 but as I said I usually get it for $3.00. What I love about this powder is I don’t ever get a white cast with it in photos and it’s referred to as ‘’HD’’ and it is! It is so flawless. I like to set my foundation with it and when I do my face looks airbrushed. The powder also comes in a yellow tint (which may be comparable to the banana powder), and a shimmery highlight. It keeps the oil at bay and makes my foundation last. If you’re in the market for an inexpensive setting powder I highly recommend this one.

5.        The next product has to be my all-time favourite blush high end or low end, these blushes are amazing! I own almost all the shades and I love every single one of them. I have a hard time in the morning when it’s time to apply my blush (looking at my overwhelming collection) to choose which one I want to wear and I can’t resist the Milani Baked blushes. They feel like they’re high end for a drugstore price. They cover almost every shade you would want in a blush from cool toned pinks, to warm peachy pinks and everything in between. Most of the blushes are quite shimmery – which I love but they also have matte colours as well. I recommend these blushes to anyone, you really won’t regret them.

These are just a few of my drugstore favourites that I have come back to time and time again that never disappoint me. Hopefully this inspires you to try some new products or to re-discover some products you already love. It’s not always the price you pay for a product that matters, there are some really good drugstore gems out there.

Childhood Happiness

Look at me go, two posts in one day. But after my last post, I was thinking about what I was going to do for the rest of the day. It's a Friday and for me this means that I don't have class. I actually get Thursdays and Fridays off until October, then I'll be doing my clinical placement. Anyway, I was thinking about some tv shows that I used to be obsessed with when I was younger, and how I wish they still aired them on tv. However, we don't live in a perfect world but thankfully we have the internet. So I searched up a couple cult favourites of mine and watched them religiously for a few months. I love watching shows from my childhood... it just makes me feel happy lol. Maybe this post will inspire you to watch some shows you used to love, or maybe I introduced you to some new ones.

I'm Back...

I started this blog about a year ago when I was sitting on the couch bored, and looking for a hobby; I think we've all been there where we just don't know what to do with our spare time. I thought I would enjoy creating my very own space on the internet where I could post my raw and honest thoughts and opinions about different topics, give advice, and discover other cool blogs. After a couple of posts of creating my blog, I completely bailed on the whole thing, and really never looked back until now. I've decided that this time I want to commit to it, and make an effort to put out regular posts. I mean, I don't even know if anyone will see this - or even care what I have to say, but I don't care. I think it's kind of cool to look back on things from the past and see where you were at in certain points of your life, what type of music you were into, who you looked up to, ect...

Anyway, enough blabbing. The point I'm trying to make here is that I'm planning on making more frequent posts.
